The 2008 riding season is 2/3rds gone already. It has been a busy and fun filled summer. The Central Iowa Chapter has hosted the annual Cruisin with the Hogs Ride and the Central Region Conference of the IWMC. Both events were well attended and the weather was perfect. Many of our members have attended other IWMC functions around the midwest, as well as the traditional biker events like Conesville, the Freedom Rally and Sturgis among others.

Now we are getting into the late summer and fall riding season and we have plans to keep active until the snow falls. Next up is our annual Public Safety Officers Welfare Fund ride on September 20th. We are looking for sponsors as we hope to raise in excess of $5K again this year. All money donated, after expenses, goes to the fund to benefit officers and their families around the state of Iowa. Public Safety Officers include, police, fire, corrections, state and federal agents, EMT's and Medics and others who put their life on the line to protect the public. When they or their family have a crisis we want to help.

Also this fall we have our annual Lacrosse Run during the Octoberfest weekend and later in October we will attend the Pumkin Ride with our Nebraska chapter.

We want to thank those of you who have supported us throughout the year, who have come to ride with us and who have attended our parties. We look forward to many more good times in the coming months. And, be prepared for the first ride of 2009, our annual Frosty Balls Ride, 100 miles on the first Saturday of January followed by a chili feed. If you want to join us, watch the website for details.
